Pressure And Heaviness In Lower Abdomen. What Is The Stabbing Pain?

hi.its my 1st pregnancy and m in my 36th week.since last 2-3 days i have been feeling pressure and heaviness in my area below lower abdomin..or pubic area. i at times feel sharp stabbing pains down in vagina too..but they long for jst few seconds. is it something to do with labor pains? plus had my baby dropped/engaged? please guide. thanx.

Hi,
From history it seems that this pain might be due to head of baby engaged some times giving rise to this pain in vagina as well.
But at the same time we should keep in mind of having starting of labor pain.
It is advisable to consult Obst. and get examined.
Ultra sound will be helpful.
Take rest and remain in contact with your Obst.
Avoid constipation.
Ok and take care.
