Prescribed Rigevidon Instead Of Microgyon. Will I Experience Weight Gain Or Any Other Side Effect?

hi, i have been on microgynon 30 for around 8 yrs but when i picked up my recent prescription i was given rigevidon instead? i called the doctor and she said that the name has been changed? after researching it online i found out that the name hasnt changed, its just a cheaper version of microgynon? im concerned i may experience side effects? is this likely? in particular the leaflet says 1 in 10 woman experience weight gain on rigevidon. if i wasnt experiencing any side effects on microgynon 30 will i be likely to experience any on rigevidon? thanks

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Both medications contain the same active ingredients Levonorgestrel Ethinylestradiol which will lead to the same side effects in a very small fraction of patients. If you have been on micrognyon 30 for 8 years with no side effects experience, then I doubt very much that rigevidon will lead to undesirable effectst given that they are same medications that have different industrial names.
