Prescribed Norethisterine For Heavy Bleeding Between Periods. No Bleeding After Stopping Medication, Ultrasound Normal

Hi, I am 39 years old and was prescibed norethisterine for a month as ive been having bleeding between periods and very heavy periods. I finished the tablet 3 weeks ago but still haven t had a bleed, I thought this shond happen 2/3 days after stopping the tablets. I ve had an ultra sound scan which was normal.

Hi. Norethisterone is basically an analogue of progesterone. These pills disturb the normal balance of estrogen and progesterone in the body. Normal bleeding is sometimes delayed up to 6 MONTHS after discontinuing taking these pills.
its perfectly normal if your bleeding doesn't occur upto 6 months.. This is a side-effect of progesterone analog pills. So, be patient and don't worry if your periods are delayed.
