Prescribed Xanax For Anxiety. How Long Is It Safe To Wait After Taking It To Drink Alcohol?
I am prescribed xanax (0.25 mg) as needed for anxiety. I've read a lot of different opinions online, and so I'm wondering how long is safe to wait after taking it to drink alcohol. It also interests me that on the bottle it simply says "may intensify effect", but looking online it seems like people seem to think you will die.
Welcome to Health Care Magic Hope you are doing good. Do not drink alcohol while taking Xanax. This medication can increase the effects of alcohol. Xanax may impair your thinking or reactions. Xanax starts to work within about an hour after taking the pill. The level of drug reaches a peak in the bloodstream after one to two hours, and its felt effects last on average about 5 hours. Xanax remains in the bloodstream long after its anti-anxiety effects have worn off. Xanax’s average half-life is 11 hours. This means that it takes an average of 11 hours for the body to eliminate half the Xanax dose. thanks for using Healthcare magic.
