Prescribed Bactrim For UTI. Have Pain And Burning. Applied Clindamycin For Burn On Foot. Can Both Medicines Be Taken?

Hello .. I have a pretty bad UTI. Was prescribed Bactrim .. Took three doses so far .. Started to feel better then the pain n burning started again before my next dose is due. I also have clindomyacin that was prescribed to me for a burn on my foot . I filled the script but didn't use it as I was instructed to not take unless I noticed infection. I'm wondering if I can take both the clindomyacin and the Bactrim together to help knock this UTI out ?

Hello

Thanks for the query

Continue taking Bactrim for the UTI, UTI is fairly difficult to treat and it requires antibiotics for a minimum of 7 days. Clindamycin is not very effective for UTI, however it is an excellent drug for wounds. Combining both is possible but dont expect Clindamycin to do wonders for your UTI

I hope I was of help

Regards
