Pregnant With Twins. Detected Low Lying Placenta, Little Bleeding. Advised Moving Up Of Placenta With Growth Of Uterus. Guide

hi i am 22 weeks pregnant with twins And my placenta is low lying (2.5 cm from internal OS). I had little bleeding and my doctor advised bed rest. She said the placenta should move up with time as the uterus grows. What does statistic say? what are the chances it will move up? What is considered a safe distance from internal OS? thanks.

MOre than 90 % of low lying placenta migrates upwards after the 7th month.
More than 4 cm away from internal os is considered a safe distance.
Please take rest, avoid stress and intercourse, and take your medications on time.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Normally placenta will get attached in upper segment of uterus, so that during delivery, placenta is not compressed by baby.
As pregnancy progress lower segment of uterus stars developing, grardually placenta moves up from internal os.
As your placenta is not covering internal os need not have to worry,
Take rest
If you notice further bleeding consult your doctor immediately.
