Pregnant With Period Pains While Emptying My Bowels, Why Is This ?

I ve recently noticed that when I need to go to the toilet for a poo, I get stomach pains similar to period pains that make me want to hold on to my belly. I m 5 weeks pregnant and wonder whether my uterus growing could be having an effect on my bowels. Or is a sign of a miscarriage . Anyone else suffered with this? Please help

Hello.
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
The pain you are having may be due to the pressure your gravid growing uterus is putting on the surrounding bowel. There is nothing to worry. It is a very nonspecific sign to comment about miscarriage. Get an ultrasound scan done to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
