Pregnant, Used The Bleached Poured Toilet. Will It Harm The Fetus?
Hi,
I've just found out I'm pregnant, I'm about 5 weeks. I'm worried because I used a toilet that had just had bleach poured inside the bowl and I didn't realise until I had finished using it. I was sitting on the toilet for quite a while- maybe 15 minutes. Could this have harmed my unborn baby in any way? Thanks for your help
Hi, As the exposure has been for a short period and you did not have any persistent exposure to fumes afterwards, the chances of any untoward effects are very little. Damage is more when there is persistent exposure as in remaining in the bleach atmosphere with closed doors and windows for hours together. You should nevertheless, inform your obstetrician about this and get proper management. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. You should consult a gynaecologist and go for ultrasonography to see the well being of foetus, If your baby is fit and fine not to worry. Please be regular in your check-up and medication. Don't worry. Everything will be fine. Happy and safe motherhood. Take care.
