Pregnant, Lump Near Anus, Hard, Tender To Touch, Inconsistent Bowels. Causes For Symptoms?

I am 15 weeks pregnant and have noticed I have a small hard pea size lump close to my anus . It hurts and is really hard. I don t think it s a hemroid cause its really hard and is tender. I haven t had any blood in my stool but I have had inconsistency in my bowel movements. Do you have any idea what it is or how I can get rid of it. It s been there for about 3 weeks now and I thought it was going away but recently it s hurting again and seems to be bigger.

Thank you for the query.

If this lump is getting from the verge of the anus or from the inside of it, this might be hemorrhoid. It can be hard and painful when the blood inside of it gets coagulated. This result with thrombus related inflammation. Very characteristic for such inflamed hemorrhoid is its dark red or even black color.
If this lump is close to the anus but it does not come from inside of it this can be an abscess. This may be caused by some soft tissue bacterial infection or fistula between anus and the skin. Such lump is mostly very painful, the skin around it gets red and tensed. Fever and shivers may associate.
Hemorrhoids can be treated with suppositories, warm baths, and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. However surgery can be a permanent relief (when the pregnancy will be over).
If it is an abscess, immediate surgery will be the only remedy.
