Pregnant, Having Swelling And Itching In Vagina, Partner Having Scabies. What Could This Be?
Hiya my partner has scabies and i think i may have it as we have had sex & shared the same bed. Today on one of my inner lips on vagina was really itchy and then swelled up abit and still slightly swollen now. I am pregnant and was thinking either it could be that or it could be irritation for discharge. What do you think?
As you have said that your partner has scabies, he must take appropriate treatment for the same at the earliest.
In scabies treatment, pregnant women and young children should only use permethrin cream under medical supervision. Malathion lotion has no known effects on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. However, you should also seek advice from your GP or pharmacist before using it.
Hi,
Your present complaints may be due to scabies, since scabies spreads by close body contact.During pregnancy the genital organs are soft ,so itching will cause swelling. Another possibility of your genital itching may be fungal infection like candida infection, because pregnant patients predispose to get candida infection.
Consultation with your doctor will help.
Yours,
Dr.Vasuki
