Pregnant, Have Severe Gastritis. Have Stone In Gall Bladder. Is It Safe To Take Pantop During Pregnancy?

I suffer from severe gastritis . I have a single stone(15mm) in my gall bladder too. Whenever I get pain in my stomach due the above reasons I take pantop 40 and it gives me releif. Now I am 12 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child, last evening I got a severe pain in my stomach and was forced to take Pantop 40 which I was trying to avoid but as I couldnt bear the pain I took it. Is it safe for the baby??? can I take pantop 40 whenever I get such pain anytime during my pregnancy. How frequently can I take it?? PLEASE HELP ND GUIDE ME.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
You should consult a gynecologist for your symptoms but I think you should not take pan-40 rather you can take rantac tablet that is more safe.
In my opinion you can go for home remedies for acidity also.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Safety level of pantoprazole is uncertain in pregnancy, safer alternative is a ranitidine or famotidine two times a day.
When ever you get pain take milk which helps to reduce pain.
For gall bladder stone you can consult your doctor, if that needs to be operated then 2nd trimester is better time to get it done.
