Pregnant, Had Jerks In Bus While Travelling. Anything To Worry?

Hi Doctor,

I just missed my period and tested postive in a home pregnancy kit (34 days since last period). I travelled back from office in bus yesterday and had a few jerks in the bus - horizontal jerks and some vertical jerks for about less than 5 minutes. Would it be a cause for concern? I am 32.5 years old and its a first pregnancy.

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Usually minimal jerks may not affect the pregnancy.
But better to be on safe side.
If possible prefer train or car. By this the discomfort due to jerks can be avoided.
If bus is the only option, prefer sitting in front seats that can avoid the jerks to some extent.
Consult gynecologist confirm pregnancy and start taking folic acid prophylaxis.
