Pregnant And Transvaginal Ultrasound Showing Baby In Oblique Breech Presentation. Should I Be Worried?

I am 32 weeks pregnant and my latest scan shows my placenta lies posterior lay and is encroaching on my cervix on a transvaginal ultrasound. Baby is also in oblique breech presentation with head to my left and feet presenting. Does this mean I will definitely need a Caesarean section or will the placenta and baby move? Baby is also large weighing approximately 5lbs 7ounces at 32 week scan with her belly in the 98th percentile and legs in the 95th . I am 41 with three children aged 7, 4 and 3 and have suffered two miscarriages in the last 12 months

Hello,
Change in presentation is possible up to 34 weeks of pregnancy, but, in your case, it appears as though the presentation may not change owing to the low- lying placenta. So long as the placenta is marginal, there in no problem in the course of pregnancy and labor. Instead of going for the external or internal podalic version in expert hands aimed at changing the presentation from breech to vertex, it would be better if a trial breech delivery is planned when a small baby is expected, in a well -equipped hospital. There could be a 50% chance of a normal delivery, but nothing can be committed as yet and can only be decided when you set into labor. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you safe delivery.

Since placenta is lying on the cervix slight dilatation will lead to bleeding.Becuase of low lying placenta lower part of baby wont fix down for delivery. There are chances of cord of baby coming down before birth of baby which can risk baby's life. There are less chances of placenta moving to a safer upper zone of womb.A repeat USG at every 15 days interval with rest is needed.Contact your doctor if any pain or bleeding or leaking from vagina.Consider Tubal ligation as contraception after birth of healthy baby.
