Pregnant. Ultrasound Showed Mild Dilatation Pelvicalyceal System Of Kidneys, Transverse Foetus, Normal Placenta. Explain

My ultrasound during pregnancy (34 weeks) shows mild dilatation pelvicalyceal system of bilateral kidneys with AP diameter is 7.8 mm. At the time of 20 week's pregnancy same comment was there in ultrasound with AP diameter was 4.5 mm. Kindly guide us on this.

Also it shows foetus is seen in transverse lie with head towards right side (placenta is normal, not low lying, grade II in maturity, liquor adequate in amount, AFI is 12 cm). Estimated foetal weight is 2267 gm, and FHR is 140 B/pm. Kindly guide us and give your opinion about the ultrasound especially on the first query on dilatation of kidneys.

THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Your ultrasound report shows dilatation of pelvicalceal system of the kidney of foetus that is matter of concern. In my opinion you should wait for delivery because otherwise baby is fine so after delivery you should consult a paediatrician.
Baby lie will be changes after 36 weeks, so do not worry.
Good luck.
Happy and safe motherhood.
Regards
Dr. Richa
