Pregnant. USG Reports Show Placenta Low Lying , Intrauterine Fetus. Need To Be Worried?

Hello Doctor, my wife is 12 weeks 3 days pregnant. USG done & as per report -
1. Intrauterine fetus seen in variable presentation
2. Fetal movements are good
3. NT measures 1.3mm, normal
4. Placenta low lying
'Intrauterine Fetus' is the worrying word for me. Will you please help me to understand this & please let me know the health of baby.

Hello,
The sonogram report is absolutely normal and you need not worry at all. 'Intrauterine' means that it is inside the uterus, which is the normal position of the fetus. This is mentioned so that there are no doubts regarding the presence of any abnormal position or ectopic pregnancy, a condition which can lead to complications. The condition of the baby is absolutely fine and there are no detectable anomalies. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
