Pregnant. Spotted Blood With Clots. Now Brownish Discharge. Had Severe Cough. Baby Fine On Scan. Concerned?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant. Last night I spotted few times. Even blood was red and couple of clots too. Then it stopped and till now I haven't have any blood but couple drops of brownish discharge. I have had severe cough episodes for few days. I went into an ER last night and they did a scan. Baby seemed fine with heart beat. I'm still a bit concerned. My mind is not at ease. Is everything okay?

If the scan is fine and shows that the fetus is healthy then you neednt worry much. The cough is the problem here. You need to avoid any kind of stress on the abdomen. Coughing, sneezing, straining, bending etc can all increase the intra-abdominal pressure. That cause stress on the pregnancy in some women, have a tendency to bleed. You are just out of the 1st trimester, so you arent completely safe at the moment. You need to make sure you have complete rest and avoid putting unnecessary strain.Take treatment for the cough.
