i had 2 miscarriages in my 2nd n 3rd mth.then i had a daughter from my third pregnancy, during which i had bed rest whenever i could, had duphaston for a mth and IVFC injections for 5mths.my daughter is now 4 yrs old.i had a third miscarriage after her, last yr.i had spotting in all 4 pregnancies.now im pregnant again n its hardly my 5th week.my gyn appointment is a few days away but i want a 2nd opinion still.im spotting again but its dark brown n only visible when i wipe.should i start taking duphaston n injections right away?as im scared of another miscarriage n bed rest with a 4 yr child is almost impossible.
Hi, Duphastone is synthetic progesterone.Progesterone is the pregnancy maintaining harmone.Harmonal imbalance is one of the causes for recurrent abortions. Since you already have spotting,it may well be another threatened abortion. With the background of your bad obstetric history it may be advisable for you to take duphaston straight away, but an obstetric examination is highly recommended.USG abdomen to confirm the viability of pregnancy. Wish you a complication free ,safe confinement.
