Pregnant. Had An Area Of Swelling. What Can Help?

Hi Dr. Sahu, My wife is currently 24 weeks pregnant with our second child. As with the first she has a 3 inch triangle of swelling at the base of her spine . There is no real soreness or discoloration and it is not hot to touch. It s only characteristic is that it is very puffy/ swollen. Our only cause for concern is that we have no idea, other than the pregnancy, of what the root cause is. Can you help us? Should we be concerned and have you seen this before? Thank you! Hi,
You do not worry about the swelling. It is sometimes the normal sequel to get swelling at his region due to congestion of veins by growing fetus. It will be alright in next few weeks if you are not disturbing it. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
If it is increasing in size then can meet a your treating doctor at the earliest.
