Pregnancy test negative. Had a light period. Pregnancy chances? Not on birth control

hi i was 3 days late on my period, did a pregancy test and it was negitive then came on but was light for about 36 hours when its normally a medium to heavy period for 4 days. I am normally like clockwork and can time my period down to within a few hours and this was not a normal bleed - i am not using any form of contraception and am having regular sex. Could i be pregnant or just be having a light, short period?

according your description both the possibilities are there,
so you better go for blood test for pregnancy which will rule out the possibility, if comes negative then your period should be hypomenorrhea means scanty flow during periods, it can occur because of many causes like anemia, hormonal imbalance etc, usually that can get corrected by next cycle if not better to consult doctor once to get investigated.
if you want to conceive better to track ovulation by natural methods like cervical mucus method or by ovulation kit and plan intercourse around that period which will increase the possibility of pregnancy.
take care.
