Pregnancy Scan Showing No Cardiac Activity, Baby Is Not Developing. Miscarriage?

I am pregant and i went to see my OB and they told me i was 5 weeks and 6 days. I went for a follow up to see any cardiac activity and there wasnt any. The doctor told me my sac was getting smaller and the baby might not be developing. I may have a misscarriage. But my blood levels are high. Is there a chance i wont have this misscarriage?

Thank you

OBGYN 's  Response
Cardiac activity should be present by 6-7 weeks. You can repeat the scan after 2 weeks and if there is no heart beat by that time, then its probably a miscarriage. Blood will be high initially but eventually will decrease. You have to repeat them every 48 hrs.

OB & GYN Specialist Dr. Dr. Ahmed Bahaa's  Response
Dear user, welcome to healthcare magic.
As long as there is no bleeding or sharp abdominal pains and the sac is intrauterine as evident by ultrasound, we will loose nothing if we wait for another week or 10 days after which we can repeat the ultrasound scan to confirm the diagnosis. I saw many cases like this and the pregnancy turned to be healthy. Unless your doctor is sure and confident.
I hope these words were useful to you.
Good luck.
Dr. Ahmed Bahaa.
