Popping Noise In Elbows Whenever Bent. Anything To Fix It ?

Hello, i am 17 years old and i have a problem. Whenever i fold my arm whether it is because i am doing push-ups or doing bench presses, my elbow makes a popping noise. The popping is painless, but quite uncomfortable, the heavier weights i am benching the louder it pops. I believe it is the medial epicondyle of my elbow and it can be muscle tissue or a ligament going over that part of my elbow and then slipping off, is there anything i can do to fix it? Thank you.

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

This is just to let you know that sounds/noises occuring around a joint are of 2 types.
INTRAARTICULAR (occuring from within the joint) sounds are usually termed as CLICKS which arise either from articular surface (joint surface) or from the intra-articular ligament.
EXTRAARTICULAR (occuring outside the joint) sounds are termed as THUD'S which arise either from the tendons or ligaments surrounding the joint due to friction during the movements of a particular joint.

A detailed direct physical examination is needed to know whether it an intrarticular or extraarticular sound.

As the sounds are persisting without pain in your joints, most propably they might be extraarticular sounds, which are not a matter of concern.

No medications are necessary, if they are extraarticular in origin.

Hope I have addressed your query. I welcome any more clarifications
