High blood pressure can be caused by a lot of things such as stress, fluid overload, high sodium diet, plaque in the arteries, high cholesterol, diet, smoking, high caffeine intake, alcohol, medications, cardiac dysrhythmias, and more! Make sure your Mother goes on a low sodium diet, take her high blood medication(s), exercise, control her cholesterol (decrease intake, meds), lower mental stress, stop smoking (if she does), moderate alcohol intake (if she does), loss weight to BMI (if she's overweight), and reduce caffeine (coffee, sodas, teas). That should help her out hopefully.
