Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic

The basic food item to be restricted for a hypertensive patient is to restrict the amount of sodium intake. Sodium is used if various forms in food stuff, all sodium rich foods to be restricted to maintainthe normal blood pressure. Sodium bicarbonate ( soda ) used in idli, dosa batter, preservatives used in all processed foods , ready made foods, pickles, pappads, sauces, ketups, oily fried foods and packed fruit and vegetable juices.Try to use low sodium salt in cooking and no extra salt on table.Go in only for low sodium products which are easily available in the markets.Daily walking and avioding too much of stress also help in the control of blood pressure values.
