Please Suggest Cure For Blood In Stool And General Fatigue

Hi, um, I ve not felt quite up to par lately and this is not the first time this has happened... when I went to have a bowl movement, there was a bit of a struggle,(too much cheese), but nothing out of the ordinary. When I went to wipe the tissue was blood, I threw that in the trash scared to stand up, when I did the toilet was filled with blood. There s no abdominal pain per say, I just don t feel right. Something is not right. I m not a sick type of person. My family, children, and myself don t often get sick. But when we do, it s serious. Cancer, brain tumors, pneumonia...this is our illnesses. Not the common cold or flu. The most common thing I suppose is my allergies and asthma, my mother s high blood pressure... please help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear,

Thanks for choosing HCM.

Blood in stool could be due to several causes, The doctors ask some questions when a patient complains about blood in stool and take some history of the patient. If the blood is bright red and associated with constipation and pain while defecating then it could be due to anal fissure or haemorrhoids, if the blood looks dark or black then it could be bleeding from peptic ulcer, if the blood is red or dark red mixed with stool with abdominal pain then it could be due to lower gut related diseases such as Crohn's disease etc.

Based on your family history and that you have no pain with such bleeding, i urge to visit a Gastroenterologist to rule out possibility of cancer.. Blood in stool could also be due to Colon cancer, specially if there is no pain or constipation while defecating. The Doctor will ask you full details of your symptoms and ask you if there is any medication you are taking, and will also do Colonoscopy to rule out presence of cancer or other disorders..

Please visit the Doctor as soon as you can and do not take any medicine until Doctors does full check up.

Hope this helped

Wish you all the best
