Piece Of Glass Stuck, Cut Opened And Removed It, Had A Tissue Build Around It. Will It Heal?

My husband got a procedure done today on his right leg. He had a piece of glass stuck in it so the dr cut his leg open and removed it but had to cut his muscle to get it out as it had 17 years of tissue built around it. Is this serious or will he heal well? Will his leg be ok and should he have physio or just make sure he keeps it moving and heal on his own?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
It is natural to cut the tissues to remove a foreign body like glass.
It is not serious.
It will heal well.
His leg will be ok.
There is no need for a physiotherapsit.
It will heal on its own.
Please give him a good antibiotic and anti inflammatory drug so that the wound will not go into complications.
Wish him speedy recovery
Regards
