Persisting Redness, Warmness, Itchiness Over Face, Droopy Eyelids, Swollen Area Around Eyes, Had Take Steroid Shot. Cause?
I noticed my face getting red and is hot to the touch. Initially, it was itchy also. I have droopy eye lids and areas around my eyes appear swollen. This condition has been present for 3 days now. It s not a sunburn . I went to the doctor and they gave me a sterroid shot. It went away for 24 hours, but is now back. The doctor also prescribed me Prednisone 5mg/6 day pack. What could my issue be?

Your condition is like acute Urticaria with/without angiodema. It was due to an allergic response of any of the following:
A. External causes: i) Hair dye ii) Foods iii) drugs iv) Physical factors
B. Internal causes: i) Infection e.g.-sinusitis, dental caries, peptic ulcer disease due to h.pylori, ascariasis ii) Systemic diseases- thyroid disorder, carcinoid syndrome iii) Malignancy.
You are on the right way of treatment, continue it with a anti-histamin e.g.-Tablet-ATARAX 25 mg 3 times daily for 1 week (aviod driving or fine instrumental work in this week).
Visit/ consult dermatologist to detect your cause of illness if you are interested.
