Persisting High Potassium Levels After Following Advised Diet. Could This Be Due To High Alcohol Consumption?

My husband has had blood tests. That show he is very high in his potassiam. He was told to go on a certain diet. He followed it for a month but he went off (said he felt fine ). Well the symptoms are back. My question is can alcohol consumption have anything to do with this. He is a HEAVY drinker (always has been ). His symptoms are. Always worse after a major bender

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns for your husband. I also think that you will do well if you insist that your husband go on that diet. I also think that your husband should go off of alcohol and a good substance and alcohol addiction counselor will be able to help him with the same. I believe that your doctor's suggestion regarding the diet was right and it seems to be the right thing to do. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
