Persistent Cough With Green Mucus, Started With Flu, Took Antibiotics. Medical Opinion Required?
Hi Dr XXXXX, I saw my doctor recently for a persistent cough. It originally started off as a flu/cold. This is my second bout with this system. I have since taken two courses of antibiotics only to have the cough persist with green muscuous to expel after each coughing session. After the last examination I was diagonised with no fluids in the lungs, recommended to put up and let the system go away in due course, and no further prescription for antibiotics. Should I seek another medical opinion? Should I be prescribed a different and more effective antibiotics? Should I have any tests to determine if I have something else developing eg. pneumonia? Please advise. Thank you.
