Periods Due, Took Folvite Tablet, HPT Negative. Can I Still Be Pregnant?

hello doctor my periods r delayed by 8 days now. i did a home pregnacncy test today and its negative. i took folivite table for last 5 days still my periods r missing.. can i still be pregnacnt even if the test is negative?please advise me the next step..

Hello madam, well from the history you have given, urine pregnancy test usually gives an accurate result, but sometimes in very early weeks of gestation, it may show a faintly positive line or will not turn out to be positive...This is because of low levels of beta HCG in early weeks of pregnancy....You can waite for 5 more days and repeat the test if your periods are still delayed......Delay or irregular periods can also occur due to stress, sometimes due to underlying medical disorders like thyroid. ...hope i was helpful to you. ....
