Period flow not normal, dark red, not heavy, constipation, bloating. Possible reason?

About a month ago, me and this boy were fooling around. He went in me but didn t penetrate or finish. I had my period a week after so I wasn t worried. This month my period started at a normal time but this time there was something strange about it. It wasn t a normal flow. It was dark red, almost black and not heavy. I started my period on Monday. It is now Thursday and it is completely gone. For the past month, my appetite has been crazy! I can t stop eating! I have been experiencing a little bit of constipation and bloating . My main concern is my period flow this month. I researched a bit online and all that pops up is pregnancy symptoms . Can I be pregnant?

Hello and welcome to HCM
Pregnancy can be confirmed by pregnancy test.
Pregnancy is unlikely when you have had your menstrual cycles.
The flow and duration of menstrual cycles vary from one cycle to the other.
The menstrual flow can appear dark due to passage of blood clots.
Observe your cycles for few months for duration and flow.
However, pregnancy is unlikely as you have had your menstrual cycles.

Regarding your increased appetite and constipation, they can occur in pregnancy but not just few days after conception.
For constipation, take more of fluids, high fibre diet and less of refined foods.
You can take a mild laxative once a day for few days.
Bloating can occur due to gas. Avoid heavy meals at night. Take some light exercise. Taking fluids will help.
Try these dietary measures and see if they help.

Appetite can increase in various conditions like:
1. Anxiety
2. Drugs like corticosteroids
3. Psychiatric disorders eg Bulimia
4. Pre-menstrual symptoms
5. Endocrine disorders-Hyperthyroidisation, Graves disease
6. Hypoglycaemia
7. Diabetes mellitus

Consult your doctor for clinical examination and get the investigations done for above mentioned conditions.

Thanks and take care
