Peeled Dead Skin With Application Of Silver Sulphadiazine And Covered With Bandage Due To Fall Of Boiled Water On Foot. Right Treatment?

boiled water fell on my son's foot(aged 20) on 11/11/2013 local Dr.peeled off full dead skin and applied SilverSulphadiazine ointment and covered it with bandage.This process repeated twice till date (19/11/2013).My question is it proper procedure? Some people adviced me not to cover the affected area and also adviced me to apply Nadoxin cream.
Please guid me.

hi. The main aim is to allow the epidermis to regenerate and to prevent infection. Covering with Antiseptic dressing will help prevent secondary infection and it is advisable to keep the area moist preferably with an antibiotic ointment such as in your case, which will help faster re-epithelialisation. so i think your clinician did everything right.
