Patch of skin that gets red and sensitive after protected sex. Could this be due to friction?

I had protected sex a few weeks ago and had to finish myself off by mastribating. A patch of skin became sensitive and red afterward. It seemed to get better until I had sex a week later and now it is a painless but sometimes itchy pink color. Hoping this is just caused by friction. Both times I had sex it was protected
