Panic Attacks, Increased Heart Rate, Fatigue And Numb Fingertips. Suffering From Prolonged Infection. Is This Serious?

I've been sick for almost a month. I have really ugly cough and I can't taste or smell and I went to the doctor and they said I had an ear infection. I took medication for about 10 days but I never got better. I have been noticing that I've been getting little anxiety attacks. My heart beats faster for no reason, I get tired fast, I get shaky and my fingertips get numb. I also start feeling like if I can't breathe. I've gotten these little attacks way before I was sick so idk if that has anything to do with it. But please reply because I really want advice from a doctor!

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what you have been experiencing. Ugly cough for a month raises the concern of an allergic terrain that may be responsible for these symptoms. Also, because you cannot smell anything, it means your nostrils are also involved. this makes it to look more of an allergy. You would need to take antihistamines to get these symptoms controlled for at least 14-28days. Please, discuss this with your doctor.

It is normal to feel a little anxious once o=in a while. It represents a normal reaction and adaptation by the body. however, if you think that the frequency or intensity is too much, then it could actually represent panic attacks that need the attention of a psychiatrist. Figure out how to see one is symptoms continue.

I hope you find this helpful and it addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health.
