Painful Protruding Mass On Jawbone. Dentist Had Removed A Bone Spur. X-ray Came Clear. Dentist Unsure

My dentist removed a bone spur about a week ago. He shaved down the area so it wouldn't protrude again however I now have a spot that looks like exposed jawbone that is painful. When I went back to see the dentist he said he could see the spot causing me pain but nothing showed up on my x-rays. I have to see an OS on Monday. What could this painful mass be? It is hard and appeared "healthy" to the dentist who says he has never seen anything like this in the 9 yrs he has been in practice.

I gone through the history given here, and I could say that in such case I would preferred MRI test instead of going for any other mean because this test gives very nice clues so we can come to know the exact pathological changes, see without this it is difficult to say anything, I hope you understand my point your further question will be welcomed have nice day.
