Painful Lump Near Ear, Hard. Swollen Lymph Node?

In the last day or so, I have noticed a prominent, painful lump on the lower right side of my head, not far from my ear. It s become more noticeable over the day, to the point where it s now throbbing with pain. The lump is quite hard, to the point where it feels like it could be bone, and hurts if pressed on. I m slightly worried about what it could be, whether it s a swollen lymph node or something more serious. I am 24 and female.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The painful hard lump near the ear could be due to a swollen lymph node in the area. A local infection near the ear can cause this. Oral antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines will help
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
