Painful Lump In Armpit. Possible That It Is A Risen?

Hello, I am a 36 year old female & I have a huge lump in my left armpit that is extremely painful. It s been there for about 6 days now. The first day it wasn t painful at all but I squeezed & aggravated it a bit. After that, it became extremely painful & although everyone says that it looks like a risen, it doesn t necessarily have the shape of a risen (dome shape), nor does it have any signs of a head. It s a little pinkish on the surface I guess because of the inflammation. Is it possible that this is a risen?

Hello,
This is in all possibilities a boil which has been aggravated following manipulation from your end. Since the axilla comprises of loose tissue, the collection of pus might continue to increase without it being more apparent on the surface. It is best to visit a surgeon at this point of time because you would possibly need an incision and drainage to relieve yourself from the symptoms along with the intake of antibiotics. Do not delay because the pain would continue to increase in the absence of treatment!
