Painful Lump Above Jaw. What Could It Be? Taking Antibiotics, But No Relief

I have a painful lump (dime sized) right above jaw bone between my chin and ear. I went to the dentist 2 days ago thinking it might be an abcessed tooth . Dentist said teeth look fine. I have no tooth pain. He gave me antibiotics scince I am leaving on a trip tomorrow. I started taking them yesterday. No improvement yet. Any ideas what it could be?

Hi,
Thanks for query,
The painful lump may be an inflammed boil on face as it is painful.
The other possibility is a swelling of parotid gland.
Along with antibiotics you take anti inflammatory medicine too.it takes 2-3 days to resolve.
thanks.
