I took my 16 year old son to the urgent care doctor yesterday when he complained about pain under his left rib cage when he does anything athletic like running, lifting weights, etc.. Without my knowledge, he has had the pain fro over a week, but assumed he hurt it somehow during wrestling practice. It has not improved, even with complete rest over the weekend, and this morning he is hungry but says he just doesn t feel like eating. He also says that although he can t see any swelling on the outside, he kind of feels it on the inside. He said it isn t a sharp and constant pain, but the diagnosis he received yesterday was a strained abdominal muscle and he thinks that is not correct for a couple of reasons: 1. he thinks he would know when he hurt it specifically, and 2: he can bend sideways and backwards and not have it hurt
