Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Your past history and symptoms in the description suggests that you might have developed Venous thrombosis. There is no way that you can treat this condition at home.

A Doppler ultrasound is needed to establish the diagnosis of venous thrombosis.

I suggest you to consult your family physician without making much of a delay and follow the advice accordingly.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day

General & Family Physician Dr. Virendra Verma's  Response
you have deep vein thrombosis according history and symptoms. it should be rule out of other condition like cellulitis, physical trauma, superfitial throbophlebitis.
For diagnosis of Deep vein thrombosis real time ultrasonographic imaging with Doppler flow studies required.
deep vein thrombosis treated early to prevent further serious complication like pulmonary embolism.
treatment required bed rest, anticoagulant therapy (low molecular weight heparin and warfarin), and apply compression stocking for helps to prevent fluid retaintion.
life style advices such as regular non strenuous walking exercise, affected leg elevated when sitting, and extended travel should be delayed until at least 2 weeks after starting anticoagulant treatment. it can not be treated at home consult your doctor for it.
hope this is useful for you.
