Pain in the wrist after an injury. Is this serious?

Hi, I do power bowling and use my wrist extensively when I bowl, at the beginning of the year I was going back into bowling and used a wrist strengthening tool called the PowerBall, anyway one time I bowled I think I sprained my wrist or somehow injured it, I cannot find any answers on the web about my symptoms, basically I don t feel any pain, no loss of function or strength, only when i bend my wrist inward at a 45 degree angle with my thumb stretched out and fingers clenched in I will feel some pain at the inner side of my wrist when I put pressure on it in that position, what kind of injury is this?

Hi and thanks for the query,
The wrist joint is very complex joint with over 8 small bones within. Lesion to any of these bones or ligaments could produce similar symptoms. Pin point the actual bone or ligament that is at the origin of pain requires much clinical expertise and many paraclinical examinations. An X ray coupled with a Magnetic Rasonance Imagine (MRI) might be useful in actually locating where the pain is coming from. A complete physical examination by an experienced orthopedic surgeon could be very necessary.
I suggest you take an appointment with one.
thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
