I HAVE ALOT OF PAININ UPPERMIDDLE OF STOMACH AND LEFT SIDE VERY PAINFUL DIAREHA SINCE MONDAY VERY MANY LOOSE STOOLS AT LEAST FIFTY FOUR DAYS, NAUSEA, HEADACHE, TOOK PEPTO PESMOL ANDIMODIUM DOESNT SEEM TO HELP NOW BOWEL MOVEMENTS ARE LOOSE GREEN COLOUR NO ENERGY, COULD THIS BE DIVERICULTIS...TWO OF MY SISTERS HAD IT AND ONE PREFORATED AND HAD TO BE OPERATED ON THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.....,,,

Hello, Thanks for your quiery.
If you are over the age of 45-50, Diverticulitis is a possibility.
Typical symptoms are fever, chills, abdominal pain, usually lower
quadrants along with diarrhea and even bleeding. The best test
to diagnose this is by a CT-Scan . Also if you have a very high
white cell count , this goes with it.
Other than that , it is possible that you have a case of gastroenteritis
either viral or bacterial. If the symptoms get worse , please contact
your doctor for further work up. Stay on clear liquid diet and keep
a close watch on the stool and check your temperature also.
