Pain In Stomach And Nausea Due To Intake Of Prescribed Metoprolol And Hydrochlorothiazide. History Of Allergy For Penicillin. Will Metoprolol Work Without The Other?
My dr has me on Metoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. I just started on them both yesterday and I thing the last one is giving me stomach pain and nausea. that is one of the side effects, and it said it can happen more to those allergic to penicillin which I am. i'm sure I don't have extra fluid anyway, the pill isn't making me have to pee more. Will the Metoprolol work without the other ? i'm waiting on the Dr to call me back, but i have to leave town in the morning and if she doesn't call, i need to know this.
Obviously your medications are given to control high blood pressure. Normally when recently initiated on HBP medication for the first time, your doctor might decide to start you on single or double therapy of antihypertensive, then monitor you closely for see if it is under control. Yes, you can take metoprolol without HCT and your BP might still be under control. But do make sure you speak with your doctor first before taking any decisions.
Hope this helps
