I have had a lot of pain in my right arm starting at the shoulder and working its way down. this has been going on for a couple of months off and on. Sometimes it is a shooting pain and other times it is more numb feeling. Now I am having pain in my leg as well. And also I have suffered with indigestion pretty regularly.

It looks to me that you are having cervical spondylysis. It can be confirmed by a neck x ray. Treatment is pregabalin and methylcobal tablet daily. Also you should start taking physiotherapy and learn neck muscle strengthening exercises. Avoid using pillow. I do not think that indigestion is a contributing factor.
