Pain In Lower Chest Like Hunger Pangs, severe Overnight.

hi, thankyou. For the past few weeks I have been experiencing pain in the lower part of my chest , right hand side. The only way I can explain the pain type is that it feels like very bad hunger pangs-but it is in the wrong place for hunger and it occurs even if i am not hungry. It seems to be behind the ribs, or even maybe towards the back centre of my body, but always on the right hand side. It has been at it s worst overnight-(it is now almost 6a.m. where I live.)

Your description of pain does not fit into any particular disease entity. Is it more on deep breathing, cough or change in posture or does it have any relation with food? do you have any other symptoms like fever, cough, phlegm, vomiting. Do you have excessive gas formation because some times an air lock in the intestines can give this kind of painh. However, you should get a xray chest and an ultrasound of abdomen done. In the meanwhile take a pain killer like meftal spa and a pantoprazole to counter any gastriris.
