Pain In Left Breast And On Rib. Ultra Sound, Stress Test Of Heart Shows Normal. Help?
I have a pain in my left breast in the centre of my chest in the lower part and it feels like in my breast and on my rib. I have had a ultra sound and stress test of my heart and that's all good the doc said but I am still getting this pain. It comes randomly sometimes like a stab and sometimes like a pain I have to press. Please help me I am so stressed as to what this could be
Hi, You would need an x-ray AP view to see the rib cage and exclude any fractured rib. If it is a rib fracture you can get stabbing pain especially on bearing weight and movement. You would, in that case, need rest, strapping and analgesics for at least 10-14 days until it heals. Alternatively, it can be a muscle spasm and can be relieved by analgesic, antispasmodic local applications, oral medications and sprays. Hot fomentation would help in such a case.
