Pain In Chest And Back, Racing Heart. Have Pacemaker, Taking Solatol

Yes, I wake up about 2a.m with severe chest pain and a band of aching across the lower shoulder of my back about 3" from top to bottom and across the width of my back. I have had about 8 trips to the hospital between Jan. 2012 to the present time last week plus 3 episodes at home as my cardiologyst told me not to go to the hospital. That is a brief description.
More: In August 28 2013 they put a pacemaker in and prescribed Sotalol. I still have the same symptoms and more often. They don't care about the pain as it has nothing to do with the problem she says. My heart race but only when I have the pain and waking at night. I want to know what the pain is from. I have been going to this doctor for several years and I have none of the symptoms of hyper trophic cardiomyopothy. none of the symptoms, I'm 83 ride my bike 20 miles in a bike group, walk the canapy of the forest, Drive long distance eat anything I want and have no problem. Please answer.

Hello. It seems that your doctor does not relate his chest pain with heart pathology. To rule out heart patology is necessary to be done various additional tests(electrocardiogram, cardiac enzymes, cardiac ultrasound, holter, effort test, even coronary angiography). If all these are tests are normal your doctor must consider other non-heart pathologies that can cause chest pain(lung problems…).I wish you good health.
