Pain in buttocks, urinating at night, burning sensation while urinating. Treatment?

my daughter who is 3 years old keeps complaining that her bum hurts.. it appears to be a yeast infection when I look down there. For the past week she has been peeing the bed during the nightime and nap time. Is this associated? She complains it burns when she pees, but this doesn't always happen. It varies throughout the day.

Hi and thanks for the query,
Its worth doing a proper evaluation of these lesions, and establishing whether there is any relationship between the skin lesions and the urinary symptoms. A clinical evaluation by your pediatrician should be sufficient in gaining enough inside into the cause of the skin manifestations. A urinary analysis and culture, with sensitivity tests are quite appropriate to diagnose and treat a possible urinary tract infection in this case. Consulting your pediatrician for a proper clinical evaluation and management is my advice. Hope this helps you and wishing the baby the best of health.
thanks and best regards,

Pediatrician Dr. Balaji Chinnasami's  Response
Hi dear,
Your child is probably having irritation and rash due to urine passage during night time. You need to keep her dry, if needed try zinc oxide containing cream. Try plenty of fluids as summer time will result in concentrated urine which when passed will result in burning sensation and rash in the bum. If still problem persists try seeing a doctor to rule out infections of urinary tract.

Take care
