Hi and thanks for the query,

It is important a complete clinical evaluation, considering the fact that more than two joints are attained, and the joint pain is associated with fever. This could be probably a bout of a rheumatological condition. Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus or mixed connective tissue disease could present itself as such. An infectious process should however be excluded considering the fact that we have fever. A complete blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C reactive protein, Rheumatoid factor , Anti Nuclear Antibodies for a start should be important to orient diagnosis and further testing.
It could be important for you if possible to consult your rheumatologist.
Best regards,
Bain LE, MD.
