Pain In Back, Knee Joints On Legs And Hands. Did HIV DNA PCR, ELISA Test, Results Negative

Hello Doc.. im asking this for one one my best friends.. he had few risky exposures in 2005 in mumbai ( india), and he did HIV DNA PCR after 15 days, 2 months, 3 months and 1 year from the exposure. He did ELISA test also after 6 months, 1 year, 2 years from the exposure and all the time result came as negative for both HIV1 & HIV 2. He had almost all symptems of infection in the initial stage and even now he get some strange pain on his back ( shoulder blade), knee joints of both leg and hands. the pain is not always there it is some electirc kind of mild shooting pain.. since all the above tests done in different time frame are negative, is there anything to be worried of HIV related these pains are ? please do answer sir

After so many HIV tests he is not having infection, unless fresh exposure is there. PCR and ELISA test are very reliable for diagnosis of infection of HIV.

This pain in back, knee and hands may not be related to such infection but they may be due to some other cause.

There are many causes for such symptoms poly arthritis, connective tissue disorders, and even depression and anxiety.

Please visit a good Physician to examine clinically and required investigations and if any thing is detected it can be treated.

Please practice safe sex as it protects from STDs.

In case if you smoke or take alcohol please stop both as they can cause various disorders.
