Pain, Burning Sensation Inside Vagina, Burns During Urination, Difficulty In Sitting, Walking. Cause?

For a couple of years now, I ve been getting pain inside my vagina . It s normally around the time of my period. It burns when I pee and its a constant burning sensation inside as well. Sometimes making it uncomfortable to sit, walk etc. Normally it goes after a day or two, but this time round it lasted for around two weeks, and so was still there even after my period. It also made it impossible to have sex because it hurt too much. I m not sure what this is, any help would be appreciated! Just as a side note.. I m also on the pill . I went on it around 3 years ago, because I had very heavy very very painful periods.

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

Your internal pain and burning is continuing for almost 2 years, I am sure you must have consulted Gynecologist and investigated to find the cause?

Urinary burning is indicative of infection that is Urinary tract infection, which may be there in vagina also but it can be treated easily.

You are taking oral pills also for painful period that is dysmenorrhoea. You should once again consult Gynecologist and get Ultrasonography of abdomen and trans vaginal also to see any abnormality. We should search for any mass, infection, or cystocele, rectocele etc.

Treatment depends on cause infection can be treated and if anything correctable by surgery can be done.

If it is making sex difficult it point to dyspareunia which may result from vaginismus you should see a Psychiatrist if everything is fine in investigations.

Hope this information helps.
Take care
Good Luck.
